What Can Coaching Look Like for Someone with a Chronic Illness?

 "Based on what my providers have told me, how might I make changes to my daily life that align with this current limitation?"


"How can I adapt while still honoring my values, identity, and goals?"

 For example, a client might come to coaching after being diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)— a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system that affects circulation and causes symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, and increased heart rate when standing. Their healthcare providers have recommended limiting upright time and practicing strict energy conservation, for now.

Rather than facing these changes alone, coaching offers a supportive space to process the emotional impact of the diagnosis and begin realigning their daily life with these new realities. Together, we might explore questions like:

  1. "Based on what my providers have told me, how might I make changes to my daily life that align with this current limitation?"
  2. "How can I adapt while still honoring my values, identity, and goals?"

The coaching container helps clients move forward with clarity and compassion—focusing not just on what's changed, but on what’s still possible.
