FAQs
Starting coaching can bring up lots of questions. Here are some of the most common ones clients ask- answered with care and clarity.
What if I don’t have a chronic illness - or don’t have a diagnosis yet?
That’s absolutely okay. Many chronic illnesses and even undiagnosed symptoms can benefit from the same types of lifestyle and empowerment coaching or nervous system support. Each person’s experience is different, and each condition can present differently in every individual. The best way to see if this work is a good fit is to book a discovery call so we can talk through your unique needs., and add links.
Do you work with chronic illness specifically?
I specialize in supporting individuals navigating chronic illness and their caregivers. That said, the tools we use— around nervous system regulation, self-compassion, and practical lifestyle support— can be helpful for anyone moving through major life transitions.
What type of provider do I need?
It depends on what kind of support you’re seeking. A coach helps you move forward with practical strategies, accountability, and encouragement that are aligned with a specific goal outlined in the first coaching session. A therapist supports healing by working through emotions, past experiences, or mental health conditions. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can diagnose and prescribe medication for mental health conditions. A mentor offers guidance based on their personal experience in a specific area. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy or medical care - it’s about building supportive tools, practices, and perspectives to help you navigate your present and future.
How do I know how many sessions I need?
That’s exactly what a discovery call is for! During this call, we’ll talk through your goals, what support would feel most helpful, and whether a single session, short series, or longer journey makes the most sense.
Can my partner and I attend sessions together?
Yes. Many clients find it helpful to have their partner or caregiver join sessions. This creates space for better communication, shared understanding, and practical strategies that support both of you during a transition. However, each of you is having a very different experience right now so there may be a benefit in each of you completing an individual coaching series to honor each of your experiences and individual needs.
What happens during a coaching session?
Each session is a collaborative space where we focus on your current needs and goals. Depending on your program, sessions may include reflection, practical lifestyle planning, somatic or mindfulness practices, or tools for nervous system regulation.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching focuses on the present and future - helping you identify what’s possible and how to move toward it. Therapy often looks to the past to process emotions and heal wounds. Coaching and therapy can complement one another beautifully, but they are different approaches.
What if my needs change after I start?
That’s completely normal - and expected. Coaching is designed to adapt with you. We’ll regularly check in on what’s working, what isn’t, and adjust the approach so it continues to support your evolving needs.
Do you offer a referral incentive program?
Yes! For each referral who books with me, you’ll receive 15% off a package of 4 or more sessions.
